Greg Paxton & Masque Entertainment
Greg Paxton founded Masque Entertainment in 1994 after beginning his playwriting career in 1992. Previously, he had earned a master’s degree in journalism and public relations and worked in such environments as marketing, newspaper, radio, advertising agency, government, and academia. But his creative muse was nagging him and he began the journey down the road of providing entertainment.
As a playwright, Greg Paxton has had 60 plus productions, including regional awards such as first place in South Carolina Playwrights, Arizona Playwrights, Low Country Playwrights, and Down Home Playwrights, with numerous stints as director and as actor.
Film was another beginning. After studying screenwriting at California’s prestigious UCLA and taking production classes at CPCC in Charlotte, he embarked on short films and a few years back, a feature film as screenwriter, director, and co-producer. He won writing recognition from national contests such as The Hollywood Symposium in Beverly Hills (finalist), the Austin Film Festival (three second-round finals), and semi-finalist and merit awards from The Writers Network, the American Screenwriters Association, Writers Digest, and the Cyclone Entertainment Project in Chicago. These were out of thousands of entries.
Greg also teaches various forms of creative writing and has done so for the South Carolina Writers Workshop Annual Conference in Myrtle Beach, SC; Coastal Carolina University, Litchfield campus; and ArtWorks on the SC Grand Strand.
All of this has culminated in the many projects included in this website. There are more on the horizon.
