Logline

"Reel Weddings" is a comedy about how six very different weddings affect the lives and careers of a budding wedding videographer and his partners.

Synopsis

"Reel Weddings" is a fresh spin on wedding comedies. Parts of it are based on the actual experiences of a wedding videographer. The film takes viewers through weddings that are Italian, black urban, hillbilly, gay, hippie senior, and upscale elite.

The plot concerns Cecil Rather, who was adopted into a wealthy family as a teenager by Penelope, owner of Litchfield Tractors. He is a V.P. alongside her conniving biological son Parker. Parker sets Cecil up for a fall by concocting a sex scandal with a hot-blooded Latina temp. As a result, Cecil loses everything … until he accidentally becomes a wedding videographer.

Cecil forms the company Reel Weddings with newfound camera whiz Darius and develops a romantic relationship with matter-of-fact photographer Bootsie. But as his star is rising, and Penelope notices, jealous Parker springs a trap to destroy Cecil's career and reputation.

This all happens through the camera lens at six weddings.

The racy romp is designed to appeal to audiences who loved "Wedding Crashers," "Bridesmaids," and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding," plus "My Best Friend's Wedding" and "Four Weddings and a Funeral," romantics and cynics alike, and yet is totally original.
